On Saturday I did my second day Bag Packing at my ASDA store. The store were great and let me share my fundraising opportunity with my club as the are desperate to fund a swim camp in Spain. My good friend and fellow disability swimmer Coral is in this picture with me (not a good photo but proof we were doing it!) we are going to spend our share of the money on a new swimsuit as we both really need one. Thanks to all the customers who were so generous and interested in supporting us. Bye for now Adele x

On the 9th June I did a Booksale at my ASDA store. The customers and ASDA colleagues were very generous and I managed to sell most of the books and raised £70, which will pay for me to enter a big competition. I would like to thank everyone that donated their unwanted books for me to sell, I really appreciated your help. Adele x

Nicola & Me (Community Life Champion, ASDA Warrington)

British Swimming were so happy with my performance at the DSE Junior and Youth Swimming Championships that they invited me as a guest to swim at one of their World Class Talent Camps!
I was exited but nervous as I didn’t know what to expect. The day started at 5.30am which is when I get up for swimming anyway but today I had to travel to Loughborough University to train in their 50M swimming pool.
I can’t quite believe I have just been training where 2012 Olympians and Paralympians train. We did 2 hours of swimming in the morning with some exercises before and after, then we went to lunch and then had a talk and video on ‘How to be the Best’ followed by some more exercises and another 2 hours of swimming and diving!
Lots of the British Swimming staff were there and all our swim coaches too, they all coached each others swimmers so we could learn from new people, and they could learn from us.
I had a great time and was so happy when Rob Aubry the Great Britain Development Coach told me I was really good and that they (GB) feel confident that I will qualify to go onto the WORLD CLASS TALENT PROGRAMME 2013. I just need to beat the 11yr old S9 times by December, so fingers crossed I don’t get poorly or injured as all being well I should be able to do that.
It was just the best experience to train with some of the best swimmers in the UK and have the GB Coaches say nice things about me. Adele x
Yesterday I went into my local ASDA store in Warrington, this time not to go shopping but to meet with the ASDA bosses. I have hopefully attached a photo of us that my mum took. They were all very friendly and nice to me, and made me feel very special. They said that they are very proud to have me as their ASDA Athlete and that they are really looking forward to helping me. Nicola, the Community Life Champion then arranged some Bag Packing events for me to do this year, I have done this before for my club and really enjoyed it so I am looking forward to that. We are going to do a book sale too!
Although I am on holiday from school, I still have to train as normal. Today I got up at 4.30am to be at swimming for 5.30-7am, then after lunch I went back to to the pool for a fun swim with my sisters, I was teaching my younger sister to do a flip turn (backwards somersault that is used going from Backstroke to Breaststroke). Then I had to be back there for 4-5pm for some hard training! Its all going well and I am hoping to do well in my next competition which is on the 28th & 29th April, its an able bodied gala that I am going to do 200M events, which I have just started doing as its tough to do 8 lengths really fast, especially with one arm!

Hi my name's Adele and I'm a competitive swimmer for Warriors of Warrington Swim Club. I also swim in the North West Disability Swim Squad and am currently representing the North West at Regional and National Swimming Championships. I have limited use in my left arm due to an injury I sustained being born, it's a severe form of Erb's Palsy. I don't let my disability hold me back, I can do anything I put my mind to! I joined Warriors in 2009 and have been making good progress ever since. This year I have been accepted onto the North West Regional Talent Programme and am aiming for the World Class one. I am training hard and am hoping that I will be joining the GB Squad soon.
