It’s been a busy time for me lately with all my training at club and with my training at GB Camp I feel like I’ve not stopped . It was good to get away with all my team mates at the weekend as we attended the Scottish Open were I was to defend my title from last year. Unfortunatly I only had 1 fight as not having attended a competition for a while I was a bit disappointed. I am glad to say I won my fight after 20 seconds as the ref had to stop it so its great news for me as I am still Scottish Champion for the 2nd year in a row.My next competition is not until next year in Germany and in between time I have my GB Invertational and GB Camp training all in preparation for a hard and hopefully successful year ahead.

I would just like to say a big thank you to Lorraine Ambrose who is the fundraiser at my designated store in Walton . Today myself and 13 other team members did a bag packing to raise funds for myself and my club and without Lorraine’s support this would not have been achieved. Lorraine made us all feel welcome and encouraged us all in our efforts to raise as much money as we could so once again a big thank you:). This week I also found out that I have been selected to attend an advanced training program with G.B here only a select few have been chosen so hopefully I am on my way to achieving my ambition of maybe one day Olympic gold.
Just to keep you updated I had the british nationals at the weekend but unfortunately it didn’t go as we had hoped it would. I had 3 fights in cadets and 2 in junior. In the cadet a class I won my first 2 fights and in my 3rd I was up against a good fighter in Natasha,
Everything was going well I was ahead by 3 points, time had stopped and natasha got a head shot after the time had finished. This took us to golden point and again it wasn’t going my way Natasha scored the point first and won. There was a lot of contraversy that day but I got a silver . I had to fight Natasha in my juniors but unfortunately I lost but got a bronze . Not the best of weekends but onwards and upwards.

Firstly I would like to thank Lorraine for inviting me to a cheque presentation to a very well deserved cause for the blind. I enjoyed my time with Lorraine on Monday as I got to meet more asda staff and the manager of Asda Walton. Lorraine had organised for 2 more causes to attend the presentation but unfortunatly they never arrived. I am looking forward to the 26th of August as I am going out on a fund raiseing day with Lorraine to give my support and help with her fundraising day.
Over the last 2 weeks I have been watching the Olympics along with the rest of the country. I was looking forward to the taekwondo most of all as all of the G.B Squad are my team mates who I have had the pleasure of training with. The picture of me is with Jade Jones who is now the Olympic Champion. I have had the greatest pleasure of training and sparring with Jade and cant wait to see her and her medal when she gets back to camp. Jade is an inspiration to me and a lot of other youngsters in taekwondo. I am back in camp next week so fingers crossed she will be there. Im still training hard as now my goal is Rio 2016 fingers crossed. Once again thanks Lorraine i had a great time see you soon.
I have just returned from my 1st junior camp and I loved every minute of it. Even though it was hard work it was all that I expected. It started with 2 training sessions and a psychology lesson. This is all part of learning how to be the best athlete that I can. We were there for 3 1/2 days and did 3 training sessions a day harder than cadets!!! I feel that in juniors I will get pushed harder than before and to be honest I can’t wait because this will ultimately make me a much stronger person and athlete. One day I want to be as good as Sarah Stevesnson and Jade Jones and do as they are doing and fight in the Olympics for my country:) I have 4 weeks to train and prepare for Nationals were I will be going for my 6th and hopefully my 6th national title. As they say “preparation is key” so let the hard work begin.

Asda WaltonHi my name is Abigail and my sport is taekwondo. I have been training since u was 5 after watching my brother. I am currently a 2nd dan black belt and 5 times British champion. My main ambition like all other athletes is to compete in the Olympics one day. With all my hard work and with the help of my coaches Peter and Lisa I'm sure this is possible.
