ASDA announced that once again they are to lead the way and cut the price of fuel setting a new national pump price at all of its 171 petrol stations across Great Britain and Northern Ireland from tomorrow.

ASDA’s new national fuel prices will see unleaded petrol drop by 2p to 111.9 pence per litre and diesel falling by 4p to 124.9 pence per litre at all its forecourts. ASDA is calling on other retailers to give up local pricing and adopt their national fuel prices, meaning that motorists filling up at the pumps don’t pay a premium if there is no competition in the area.

ASDA has responded to the recent drop in the price of oil with up to 3p a litre fuel price cut from Tuesday July 22nd.

The retailer has passed these savings on to its customers by setting new lower pump prices at all of its 170 plus petrol stations across Great Britain and Northern Ireland from tomorrow morning.

Following a successful 2007 and a strong first six months of 2008, ASDA’s 170,000 colleagues are celebrating again today [1st July 2008] after scooping the Management Category award at this year’s prestigious Business Commitment to the Environment (BCE) Environmental Leadership Awards.

Held in London last night [30 June 2008], ASDA won the accolade for its continued commitment and common sense approach to reducing waste and tackling packaging reduction in its own brand products.
