ASDA announced today (Tuesday 7th April) that it had delivered on its pledge to lower 12,500 prices by Easter across the entire store, as the supermarket continues its mission to drive down the cost of the weekly shop for millions of hard-pressed shoppers.

Rollbacks for Easter include fresh fish, meat and produce, frozen desserts, soft drinks, a range of alcoholic tipples, family DVDs, George clothing and kids toys. Easter eggs are also still available from 68p, and six hot cross buns for 27p.

A nationwide poll conducted by ASDA has revealed millions of people fear losing their jobs in the next six months, with many ready and willing to take a pay cut or reduced hours to prevent being made unemployed.

Friday 3 April 2009 – ASDA is teaming up with healthy superhero, Sportacus, from children’s TV phenomenon, LazyTown, to get a million kids moving by the end of the year and help hard pressed mums feed their kids the 5-a-day target of fruit and veg on a tight budget.

A shocking 88 per cent of people in Britain currently fail to reach the Government’s 5-a-day fruit and veg target, with 60 per cent eating two or less pieces with children suffering most as finances are stretched in the current climate.
