This is the Greater Manchester cross country team for 2012. Unfortunately in the race I didn’t do anywhere near as well as I should have done, but I suppose you learn from your mistakes and move on. We did so well as a team and although I didnt do very well, it was an amazing experience ad hopefully, i cant wait to do it again next year!

If your unsure of what an aquathlon is, it consists of a swim (for me 500m) get out the pool, put your trainers and race belt on and run! Yesterday was my first aquathlon of the year and with my bad performance the day before, I wasn’t feeling too good. But putting that aside I took it from the start and won! It was a really good day with good weather conditions and everybody enjoyed it! What a weekend!

This was at the weekend when I went down to Somerset with the Greater Manchester Schools team, to compete in hte English School Cross COuntry Finals. the headline is ‘carrot tribe’ as Greater Manchesters team colours make us look like carrots and stand out from the rest! As a team we finished top 15 which is great, we all enjoyed every minute of it too!

The day after I competed in the Bolton Junior Aquathlon which I won, that put a huge smile on my face!

All in all, it was a great weekend!

At the weekend I competed in the British Duathlon Championships.

A duathlon consists of a Run, then a bike, then a run, all at once! For my age group, we started out on a 2.5km run, to go into our first transition to the bike, which was a 10km bike course, to then go back into transition for the last time for a 1.25km run.

This was my second ever duathlon so I didn’t really know what to expect, and seeing it was a really big competition I finished 9th! I was pleased with my result, and with that I can move forward and do even better next time, all smiles here!

Because I run for Leigh Harriers, depending on where you finish in a race, you get awarded with money! This doesnt go for every race you enter, just the more important/main events that go on. Considering I’ve only ran in three races for Leigh Harriers, I’ve already bagged myself £95! Going to get some new sports wear now for the summer, can’t wait!
