After a relatively quiet July, August started on an extremely exciting note. Went to watch last 16 and Q/F matches of mixed doubles at Wembley Arena on 1st August – all thanks to a last minute spare ticket. Can’t thank you enough, Roshan aunty and Sunil uncle! This was not all! As an added bonus, I was SO lucky to watch one of my favourite badminton star – Lin Dan play on court at Wembley arena. WOW!
Now, I am in the middle of my week-long national training camp at MK which is INTENSE! I hope that I survive until Saturday.
Would keep you all posted on my progress – on my return. Until then – Ciao!

After a week long, gruelling u17 National Training camp at Milton Keynes, I am into more training at Winchester with my regular coach – Nigel. Juggling between training schedules, I arranged to visit my partner store at Eastleigh. Cecily – my Community Life Champion was at her helpful best as she came to help me set up my stall etc. – that too on her usual day off. Thanks! Cecily. You are a star!
I owe another thanks! to Mike, an artist who visited my stall and made a generous donation. He has also promised to donate one of his paintings for another fund raising activity of mine in future. I am SO chuffed!
I am off to Torquay for another camp on Saturday before heading off to Germany on 23rd August with England team mates for u17 Langenfeld Cup. Wish me luck!
Would keep you posted on my performance in Germany …
Just played in my first tournament (that too, international!) of this season – 2012-13.
As I still have another year in u17 age group, I was not expecting too much here. Reached second round of singles and then, lost to the top seed. Then, it was doubles and me and my partner, Jess Pugh – another ASDA athlete and u16 player like me, were seeded 3/4th. We played really well together and reached the semis comfortably. Met the top seeds again in the semi and lost to them very narrowly. Aim to beat them next time round!
It was a good start to my season. Coaches were happy with my performance and I hope to build up on this during my next international at Lausanne next month – September.
Wish me luck! Would keep you posted about my progress!
