Have been swimming last week, to the gym 3 times and shooting twice. Disappointed after physio- more exercises and to go back in 2 weeks. I soon picked up when I got home when i heared I had come 3rd in the open postal shoot- my first postal shoot competition.

I went to the Talent day on Saturday at Bishop Burton college- plenty of shooting practice and a bit of coaching too!

This week I supported the race crew at the first event of the Gold Rush Triathlon Series. It was held at Welton on Sunday April 1st when competitors started early (6am!!!) and braved the unexpected cold to battle it out in The Apollo Triathlon.

As the race report states the crystal clear blue skies made the scenery of the bike route even more spectacular than usual. There were several age categories for the event within the mens and ladies entry lists. The junior ladies race was one of the most competitive of the day and the one I was most interested in as I would of competed in this for fun if fit. My team mates Natasha Bellamy and Whitney Larkin of the Toro CSC Race Team went head to head and came 1st and 2nd. The triathlon was followed by the junior aquathlon and also the new Duathlon race for adults.

I was lucky enough to be asked to present the awards to all winners.

A great race and some great performances by athletes of all ages- thanks to Karl Jackson and Kat Roberts for organising the event.

This week I have concentrated on physio and have had 4 gym sessions. Shooting practice has been going well.

On Saturday I went to assist with the registration for the first ever Hull Marathon – 4 hours in St Stephens shopping centre and no time to shop!!

On the Sunday it was an early start as I helped with registration from 5.30 am. At 8am there was a high profile start in the centre of Hull surrounded by a sports and local families and businesses. The 26.2 mile closed road route took in some of the sights of the city and surrounding area. There was also a junior and children’s races and a fun run. This enabled a varied experience for all despite the rain showers.

The fastest competitor came from Bridlington and he completed the event in 2 hours 31 minutes. My training partner Whitney and I were able to award the medals and T shirts to all runners on completion of the event. The last runner completed the course about 3pm. Well done to all runners!

The events main aim was to raise money for charity. Runners raised money for their own charities. In addition to this donations will be made to The Lord Mayor of Hull’s Charity Appeal, Help The Heroes and The Bull Foundation.

The sponsors and partners of the event were: Hugh Rice Jewellers; NPower; Craft Sports; Marathon Photo; Sport Systems; Active Global (UK); Mail News & Media; Warners Sports Medicine; David Lloyd; Eskimo Soup and Simply running

Very busy week last week- completed 4 gym sessions with 3 short swim sessions after. had a physio appointment.

I also attended 2 1/2 days of the Yorkshire Pentathlon Camp. Had hours of shooting practice with my Steyr and also shooting with the Hamley and laser. I helped out with running for the younger athletes and attended the fence sessions to observe and score etc. Cant wait to return to fitness so i can join them all in action!
