I had my last selection race in scotland last weekend. At the end of it all I have gained a reserve spot for the junior squad which I’m really happy with. My brother, Sam, also made it onto the squad.

Now that selection is over I have no races until september, so It’s a hard summers training for me!

I have met up with my asda community life champion and I’m going into store to do some fundraising on monday. I’m really looking forward to doing work with asda and raising some money.

This is one of my runs from the Nottingham selection race. It should help to give you a better idea of what a slalom race looks like.

I went into my ASDA on Monday to raise my profile with staff and customers. I took in a few photo’s, some medals and my boat. It was one of the oddest things I’ve done in my life, walking into ASDA with a canoe on my shoulder, I got a few weird looks.

It was surprising how many people came up to me saying they had done canoeing in the past or had known people who had. I raised £36 which will go with the rest of my money towards a new boat, I can’t wait to go in and help again.
