I was invited to attend a National Talent ID day at Bolton Arena on Monday 30 April.

I have been attending these for a few years now but they don’t get any easier. The morning is taken up with physical tests such as sprints, cone tests and other balancing tests.

I was then assessed with my tennis skills, cross court shots, slices, drive volleys and serves. Every test is recorded where the scores will determine my matrix. The afternoon is taken up with match play so the LTA coaches can see how we perform in a match situation.

Now I just have to wait for the results. The other part of the funding process is the results from my summer tournaments, once this finishes at the end of August my results and matrix scores will determine my LTA funding.
