It was half-term last week, so I spent some of the time working and got more normal training done. I had a day out with my friends on Monday and on Thursday night we went to see some of friends band play at Lower Spennymoor club.

On Sunday I fought at the Scorpion Futures Championship in Barnsley on Sunday and won the “gold” at -55Kg. I weighed in at 52.2Kg with the help of a couple of litres of water to make the weight category as I was weighing under -51kg. The reason I decided to compete at -55Kg was to play against bigger opponents in preparation for the French Open.

I had two fights against two brothers (Kane and Nishaan Landa) from the Excell club and beat the first one 13-4 and the second one 13-1, the second fight was stopped in the second round so I managed to get a reasonable amount of ring time in.

A number of other Chi fighters fought as well and we won third place team overall winning three gold’s and three silver medals, my sister Simone won silver.

Gavin Davison was our coach for the day as Masters Graeme and Russell had other commitments, so well done to Gavin for the third place team and thanks for the coaching.

As usual we caught up with a lot of people and discussed the new rules introduced, the main change is now you get 4 points for a turning headshot and I scored my first 4 point score with a back kick to the head in my second fight.

So we had a busy weekend as we drove to Doncaster on Friday night for training and then to Barnsley on Sunday for the competition.
This week I am back to school and will be working Tuesday and Thursday night and sticking to my training plan, with one exception I will be going to Doncaster on Sunday as it is “Bonfire Night” on Friday.

So a good week with time off school and two good performances to win the “gold” medal at -55 Kg in preparation for Paris and we have confirmed that I will be competing at the Park Open in Stuttgart in December.

Hi

Just found out I am not going to Norway as the training session has been cancelled and moved to January. Bit gutted as I was looking forward to going and training. Still it is probably not a bad think as I have a really busy month this month.

On Friday I have a day off as it is Bonfire night, so I will be going to training at Doncaster on Sunday rather than Friday. Mum is taking me to Doncaster on Sunday as Dad is off to Birmingham with Scott who is competing in the BTCB Student Open 2010.

Next week I am going to Doncaster on Friday to train with Master Pete and on Sunday will be back in Doncaster to watch Scott and Simone compete at the All-Stars One to One. I am not going to compete as it is a bit near to the French Open.

Then I have two more weeks of training and it will be off to Paris to compete in the French Open. I will then finish the year competing in Stuttgart, Germany at the Parks in the first week of December.

When I am in Paris, Scott and Jamie compete in their last competition of the year at the Chi One 2 One.

A week after Parks we have the Chi Christmas party to be held in Spennymoor Leisure centre and hopefully I can keep my run of form going and win the Chi Fighter of the year trophy for the second year running. The fighters’ league has only been running for two years and won the first year and would love to make it a double. My sister Simone is currently 4th and if Scott has a couple of good performances he could end the year in the top five as well. That would be great all three of us in the top five.

I really don’t want the Christmas break in competitions as I have found my form and I am playing well. To ensure to keep this up I am going to have a word with my coaches and discuss a training plan for over Christmas and the New Year as I prepare for 2011.
That’s all for now, off to school lessons.

Back from training at Doncaster and chilling out. Had a good weekend got the new Football Manager on Friday, worked on Friday night and then had my friend Hanna round. Went out with my mates on Saturday after training into Durham and got some new clothes.
Then Torres is back on form and Liverpool beat Chelsea 2-0. So a real cool weekend all round.

Scott and Dad are back from the BTCB Student Open and Scott won gold at -63 Kg winning three fights with an overall score of 43-4. Well done Scott, I think that takes him to third place in the fighter’s league but pushes my sister Simone into sixth place, but she is the highest placed female fighter.

I have a full week of training planned and will be working hard at training and will be going to Doncaster on Friday night to train as usual and back to Doncaster on Sunday to watch Simone and Scott compete in the All-Stars Taekwondo one to one. I am not going to be fighting as it is only two weeks off the French Open and I need to stay injury free.

Hi,

A very quick update, I am off to Crook Chi Taekwondo to assist in delivering a fight training lesson tonight. I also will be answering questions on my experiences with Taekwondo and especially WTF taekwondo. The class is a 6 O’clock and will be finished be 7.30, so I will still get back to Spennymoor and get my normal fitness training completed.

This (the fight training lesson) is to help and encourage other Chi students compete in the Chi Taekwondo 1-2-1 to be held at Spennymoor Leisure Centre on the 28th Nov. It is a shame that for a second year running I will not be able to compete at the Chi 1-2-1 as it clashes with the French Open.

It is good to go to other clubs and train with other players and pass on some of the knowledge I have gained but I find it a bit awkward talking about myself. Still I will be with Master Brian and he will give the overview and explain about BTCB Sport Taekwondo.
I normally get asked about different Taekwondo competitions and the many different UK Championships people see. The BTCB is the officially recognized governing body for Taekwondo for the UK and only by been a member of a BTCB club can you compete at the British, European, World and Olympic Championships. Often people wanted to know the difference between ITF and WFT Taekwondo.

People normally ask me what is it like travelling all of and think I get to see lots of different places. In one way I do, but for normal competitions we get to see the airport, venue and hotel and leave the next day. Even when we extra days before a competition we do very little site seeing, we normally catch-up with our sleep, check our weight, eat, go training and check out the venue.

Hi,

Not a lot to update at the minute, training is going well and I am scoring on the Daedo electronic body pads and working on my tactical game plan for Paris.

I am working tonight for a couple of hours in the cafe and then off to fight training. Wednesday I am having a night off to catch-up with a couple of friends and meet Hannah. We will probably end up in the Cafe, where I normally work.

Simone, my sister fought at the All-Star one to one last Sunday and won her fight, well done Simone, Scott had to miss going as he had work.

I also an exam this week my maths module three and as usual have been stopping back at School for an extra hour to make sure my homework is done and that I am update with my course work.

I have been to the school careers day today where I got a brochure for the Royal Marines, and the course details for a couple of local colleges to do my A levels. At the minute I am planning to do my A levels at my school Spennymoor Comprehensive School.

It looks as though I have won the fighters league with my win at the Scorpion Open two weeks ago giving me enough points to not be caught and I still have two competitions left to do.

Will update next week before heading off to Paris and the French open; everybody is really looking forward to Paris.

That’s all for now

Hi,

I had a busy weekend this weekend double training in Doncaster on Friday and Sunday and Chi squad training Saturday.

Day-off school today so went in Durham with a few of my mates. Off to training tonight with Chi fight squad, club training on Tuesday and Wednesday and then back to Doncaster for a final session with Master Pete Adamson on Thursday and fly to Paris on Friday.

Funny again going to Paris as every time I go it is always Olympic weights so I don’t have to watch my weight. The downside is I am weighing about 52Kg and will be fighting 55Kg. Still I am looking forward to Paris and have trained hard.
