This site was on the river Dee at Llangollen on a new site that hadn’t been used for a long time.

This course had a tough stagger on the middle section of it which was the make or break move of the race. Very few people were able to complete this move cleanly and nicely.

I finished 8th out of 13 but had a time which would have placed me in 4th position and in with the most experienced paddlers there.

I competed in the Welsh Championships event down at Llandysul in South Wales. In this event i was against other welsh athletes in the kayak and Canadian disciplines.
In the Canadian discipline I became the senior and junior Welsh champ after beating the reigning champions from the following year.
In the kayak discipline I became the junior 16 champion.
Both of these classes had fierce competition for the trophy and it was close racing.

In this race at the new improved Teeside white water course, which had been refurbished for the past few years.
In this race i came 8th out of 18 but my time was fast enough for 4th place without penalties added.

The race was on a tough course and had lots of staggers. The drops on the course were powerful and hard to tackle.
This race showed me that i have the potential to be up with the top paddlers in britain.

The race was over two days with the qualification one day and the semi and finals the next. this race was to become the british champion.
There was many international paddlers entered in this race, who were on their countries senior teams.

On the first day i managed to get a place on the following day in the semifinals. During the racing in the qualifications i finished in 15th out of 22 into the semis and set me as one of the first off the next day.

In the semis i finished in 11th place out of the 10 through to final. This was an anxious fend to the racing waiting for the last person to go down to see if i had made the cut to the final. Out of britain top boats that were in the final.

After a tough season of racing i finished 8th overall in the ritish rankings. which means i will be one of the last boats off the start line next year.

Over the winter my goals will be to train hard, keep up my fitness and become more experienced on the water.
My aim next year is to achieve the GB junior team once again and to final at the international races (worlds and euros). I also aim to end ranked in the top 5 in the country.

This weekend my winter training starts with me training down at Lee Valley on the Olympic course.
