On the 25th September i was racing out in Austria at the Aidria Alpine Cup this event was an international event where lots of different countries entered.

The day consisted of 2 runs two hours apart. This meant that you had to perform on one of the runs as there was no semi-final / final.

After my first run i was lying in first place with a extremely fast solid run down the course which left me in a confident position for second runs. On my second run i was 1 second slower on time but because of my first run time i was still lying in first position out of the 16 other paddlers from different countries which had entered.

On the 17th September i raced for a place to compete for a wild card for Olympic selection next year.

In this race it was a fierce race to achieve a place in the semi final the following, the racing was so tight that even the slightest time penalty would knock you out of the cut.

On my first run i had a time fast enough to place me into the semi finals but collected 2 touches (4 seconds of penalties) down the course. My second run was going well until some mistakes down the course which were huge time loses, this knocked me out of the runnings to the semi final where i would have been against the top paddlers in Britain.
