I am currently studying for my AS Level exams and golf has been put aside for the meantime. As much as I would love to be out in the fresh air and sunshine playing a game of golf or practising my putting, I must remember that my education is still very important. I need to prioritise my studies at the moment and i will soon be ready to get back into the “swing” of things.
I play for the girls team at Royal Co. Down Ladies and over the last month we had our first match against Holywood Golf club. A match consists of two legs, home and away. Each team has three players ascending from lowest to highest handicaps. The first leg of this round was away in Holywood. It was a dissappointing day as all of our team members lost.
In order for us to pass through to the next round we needed to win all of our matches at home. Last Saturday, we had our home match against the girls from Holywood. I won my match on the first tie hole (1up on the 19th) and another girl from my team also won her match on the 18th. However, the last match was over and our team lost. We were dissappointed with the result but we wish Holywood the best of luck in the rounds to come. They were fantastic competitiors.
