After this weekend’s massive road ride in, what was surprisingly, decent weather I’ve got 2 big challenges coming my way.

On Wednesday 4th April I’ve got my first circuit race of the season with the “big guys” followed by what can only be described as an experience I’m going to remember.

Racing against current and former world champions, multiple time national champions and soon to be champions! Let’s just say that the Good Friday track meeting at Herne Hill Velodrome will be an experience I won’t want to forget!

Well, I couldn’t have asked for a better day yesterday. 2nd in the White Hope Sprint, 3rd in the Elimination Race, 6th in the Scratch Race but didn’t qualify for some events but gave it my all and most importantly, came within a couple of inches of beating Team Sky’s Olympic and World Medallist Ross Edgar.

However, the picture attached just shows how big, literally, my competition was with the victory of the White Hope Sprint going to my very close friend, Barney Swinnerton.

From the picture alone you can see just how close I was to beating Ross Edgar (World and Olympic medallist)!

Ah well, just means I’ll have to get my own back next time.
