I just want to say a massive thank you to Asda and everyone involved with selecting their athletes every year. As I am so pleased to be partnered with my local Omagh store again year as the help you get from the store and from Sporting Chance really does make a big difference for me especially, as it means I can compete at a high level in my sport, as I have to travel a lot.

I recently visited my store to receive my £500 cheque, as I couldn’t make the Belfast Workshop back in March so I went and collected it from the store and also got to meet my Community Life Champion and also the manager of the store as well. which was great as we talked about this year and what ideas I have that I can do within the store, which is all very exciting.

I am over the moon to be selected for the Northern Ireland Hockey Squad, which competes at the UK School Games. This year it is being held in London as it is hosting the biggest tournament for an athlete, The OLYMPICS. The games are being used as a warm up tournament for 2012. So I am really excited to be going to play in the games, which I really hope we perform well and get to see some of the 2012 Olympic venues (fingers crossed).

I’ll keep you posted on how we do..

Just back from the UKSG with the gold medal! As we beat wales 3-0, England Pumas 7-3, and England Tigers 3-1 to win the tournament. We played at Old Loughtonains hockey pitch which has been selected as the Olympic training venue for the hockey team in the London 2012 Olympics.

We also got to visit the Olympic park where we got presented with our Gold medals and we also got to visit the Olympic Swimming pool and the Athletic stadium, which were amazing.

Here is a picture of the squad with our gold medals in front of the athletic stadium.
