I can’t thank Asda enough for their support. It really does make a big difference to equipment I can buy, and what competitions I attend. Same great brand giving me backing but this time my local store has changed, two years ago I had fantastic fund raising help from Jean at the Kirkcaldy Store. This time I’ve been paired with a new store in Glenrothes and look forward to introducing myself to the team and getting stuck in. Thanks Asda.
Had a good weekend in Dunfermline. Came first in the Foil and Epee retaining both Championship Titles but unfortunately slipped up and only came second in the Sabre! This was still enough to win U-16 Master at Arms for the event.
Looking forward to the Merseyside Open next weekend! Will let you know how it goes:)
Travelled down to Liverpool with my Grandparents this weekend for the Merseyside Open. Came home with 3 medals, so I was well chuffed. This was an Adult Comp and this was my second year competing in it. Came 6th in the Womans Sabre and was awarded the Medal for Best Placed Under 18 Fencer. In the Womans Foil I won a 3rd Place Bronze and Best Placed Under 18 Fencer Medal. Training is going well, getting prepared for the British Youth Championships at the end of April. There is also a couple of more Adult Comps coming up so I’ll let you know of any news, see ya.
Wednesday this week was a pretty good day for me. First off the Scottish (Adult) Senior Rankings have been re-started, I’m happy to report that I’m in the Top 10 in all three weapons (the only woman to be in all three – well chuffed!).
Then at night I attended the Annual Dunfermline and West Fife Sports Council Awards. This is the second time I’ve been nominated for the Under 16 ASDA St Leonards Trophy. This award is given to a sportsperson who has achieved an improvement in their sport over the previous season. So I’m now the joint winner for 2010 with Caroline Weir (Scottish Footballer).
