Well the last few weeks have been quite an eventful with many changes to training regimes and preparation for the forthcoming UK School games. I have recently moved away from Wolverhampton Judo club and would like thank everyone at the club for their input and support over the past few years.
My result in Hungary was good enough to get me selected for the international competition in Berlin. I have also been co-opted onto the GBR Squad for the first time in my new weight category, this is something I now wish to build on for the future. My competition in Berlin had all the potential to be very good, my build up training had been excellent, I was on good form and was fighting as well as I ever have. I am starting to feel stronger and working on new moves. My first fight started well and I threw my opponent with a throw called sumi gash, I could not believe it though when the referee then gave the score to my opponent!! disbelief was then followed by 4 minutes of frustration as my opponent defended and made no attempt to fight me, just to defend. With 4 seconds remaining on the clock I caught my opponent with another throw and levelled the scores. The fight now went to golden score, it was here I made a silly error and lost the fight. So no European championship for me this year but a growing determination to improve and develop for the future.
