I’ve finally found some time to get my teeth into doing some fundraising with ASDA and so far it’s been great! I spent a couple of days at my local ASDA in Crawley handing out balloons and offering information about my sport. I even had some of my kit with me and the swords proved to be quite popular with a few people! Some people were interested in having a go themselves, so with any luck we might be seeing a few newcomers to the sport!
It was amazing too see how generous some people could be and although I’m not yet sure how much we raised, every little bit makes a huge difference. Huge thanks are due to all the staff at the store who were really kind and supportive, especially to Anne whose efforts have been invaluable. Hopefully, I’ll soon be updating my blog with more fundraising news, especially as plans are in the works for a Sponsored Bike Ride.
In the meantime, training is going well and I’m looking forward to when the fencing season kicks off again in September. See you then!
