After breaking up from school, I’ve spent a lot of the summer holidays improving my fitness and exercise regimes. Turns out that it all has paid off after winning two consecutive adult fencing competitions in two weekends!

My first competition was the South Eastern Section A.F.A. Ladies Foil Championships. It was a really gorgeous day but the heat made things a little difficult. Luckily, I managed to win all of my fights and ended up with a beautiful trophy and medal.

Then, last Saturday, I fenced at the Norfolk Open which was twice as large as the previous competition and much harder. My nerves were all over the place to start with but I settled down and kept my head all the way to the final which I won 15-8. All in all it’s been an encouraging past few weeks and it couldn’t have come at a better time as I have the Senior National Championships this weekend. So fingers crossed that all will go well!
