Hey guys, it’s great to be a part of the ASDA Athletes team for another year and so far, it’s been a great start to the year: I won the Aldershot Open, I came second at the Cambridge Winter Tournament, I won the Nottingham Open and my team and I won the Wimbledon Team Event. Three golds and a silver in senior competitions and it’s only March so I’m really looking forward to the rest of year.
On Tuesday, I went to the ASDA Athletes Workshop in Wembley Stadium where I had a fantastic time. The social media workshop was really interesting and great fun; we got to play around with cameras, taking videos and photos and we learned a lot about the power of social networks. I met so many fascinating people who had achieved so much in their sport and in addition, the five times Olympian and six times World Champion swimmer, Mark Foster, came and spoke to us about balancing sport with school, striving to succeed and how to motivate ourselves when times were tough. All in all, it was a brilliant day and I’m really grateful for this opportunity that ASDA has given us.
Tomorrow, I will be competing in Kent at the Invicta Open so fingers crossed and I’ll be back in a few days to write about how I do. See you then :)
