Well now I am finally back into the indoor season for volleyball it feels great. My local team Ashcombe started the season playing Leeds, a team who last season beat us with their GB players. This year though the GB players have gone abroad to train or go to universities and so we won our first National League match of the season 3-0.
The next week we had a match against a team that have a lot of junior players I train and play with at England. So the pressure was on to make a good impression and prove myself to them. We started off the match quite slow and Wessex took the first set. We fought back and the game was really tight in the sets being tied at 2-2. We went into the 5th set feeling tired but the one thing we all wanted was to win! Both teams fought hard but in the end we won the match 15-10.
In National League each team votes for a player of the match or an MVP. I was lucky enough to recieve this in our first 2 matches. It is the first time i have ever had an MVP in National League so i am really pleased with my performance. It looks like all the hard work at the Loughborough Academy is paying off. All i have to do now is play really well this weekend against a team called Polonia. More news and results soon.
