This year I am hoping to make the jump between junior and senior badminton and I am playing much more senior domestic tournaments, but I am also entering into the senior European circuit. Welsh Open is in the international series competitions and has many senior european top players playing so I wasnt expecting anything going into the tournament.

I was into the main round of ladies doubles but had to qualify in the mixed with Ryan McCarthy, we safely came through qualifying and then played the next day against an English pair and lost 21-14, 21-19 although we werent very happy with our performance we can learn alot from that game!

In the doubles me and Lauren Bromley won our first round in straight sets and then had to play the 4th seeded Nigerians who went to the Commonwealth Games this year, we managed to play well and beat them in straight sets so we were in the quarter final! This being a senior international was a massive result but also considering this was only our 4th tournament together and Lauren had been injured we were very happy with our performance! We then lost in the quarter finals to a world class pairing of Asians who are based in Leeds, they then went on to win the overall tournament.

Off to Hampshire Satellite next weekend where I am only competing in the mixed doubles!
