Played the last U17 competition of the season, excluding the nationals, this weekend. Being seeded first for both was a confidence boost and I was hoping to do well in both of my events. After the first day I was safely through to semis of doubles and quarters of mixed. On the Sunday, I won my quarter of mixed in two sets to make it to the semi where we then lost in two very tight sets to the eventual winners. In the doubles we won our semi final in 3 games and then managed to win in two sets when not playing our best in the final to win our third U17 domestic title in a row!

Last weekend I played the last U17 tournament of the season excluding the nationals, going into it I was feeling confident and when the draw came out and I was top seed for both I was looking forward to the weekend ahead! U17’s are always tough and long days, especially since I play the mixed and doubles which are the first and last event of the day! In the doubles me and my partner Holly Smith won both of our group matches comfortably to make it through to the semi final the next day, mixed as we got a bye the first round we then only had one match which we won in two sets to take us to the quarters on the Sunday. Sunday morning me and partner Darren Adamson came in quite fresh and ready, winning our quarter in two sets.against a very promising younger pair. Next up was our doubles semi, we played very well in the first set winning 21-8, we were then up in second before a loss of concentration and good play from our opponents meant we lost 22-20. One game all and everything to play for, we came out and started playing our normal game, eventually winning 21-12 to make it to our third consecutive final. Unfortunately, the mixed quarter wasn’t to be and we lost to Lexi Gilders and Tom Wolfenden who is on top top form, 26-24, 21-19 which was disappointing as we didnt play our best but Tom and Lexi went on to win the tournament so we felt better. Lastly was our doubles final playing against two younger players who have never played together before, we came out and dominated the game attacking throughout and won in two sets 21-18 21-16 to win our third in a row! Hopefully we can carry this form onto the nationals :)

Off to spain tomorrow for the Spanish Junior which is on the U19 European circuit, very excited and looking forward to playing in a new hall somewhere we havent played before!
I am playing the mixed with my regular partner Ryan McCarthy and we have a tough draw but in the doubles my partner recently got injured and now cant play (get better soon nat) so we are arranging with the organisers to play with a portugese girl so hope to sort this out and be able to play some doubles! Wish me luck!
