My second competition for Great Britain this year. I went to Cottbus, Germany with three other team mates for the weekend. We set off early friday morning and after a long day of travaling we trained in the competition arena for a couple of hours. As i was in the younger age group, it was a really early start on saturday morning. After warm up, me and my team mate started on the vault. I got off to a good start having a successful first three pieces. The second three pieces were not so good having made a couple of mistakes but i still came out on top. I won saturdays competition and qualifying for five apparatus finals. Sunday was a great competition. I won four out of five apparatus final which were the Rings, Vault, Parallel bars and horizontal bar. Overall it was a great weekend and i really enjoyed it.

The competition included five age croups that competed different times over the weekend. The under 14 comp was to take place on sunday along with the masters competition where all the top seniours compete on each piece of apparatus for title. I started on the rings and it was going well until i had an unfortunate fall on the Parallel bars on my dismount. I recovered extremely well on the Horizontal bar and it was looking good to win up until the final piece which was the Pommel hours. With this being my weekest apparatus I was really nervous as i had to perform clean to win.

Unfortunately the nerves got the better of me and i made a mistake on my dismount which cost me the title. I finished in second position all round and won 4 gold in the individual apparatus. Although i was dissapointed of loosing the all round, It was again a successful weekend and I enjoyed it alot.

As it being the weekend after the british championships i was a little tired. 3 team mates from leeds and I flew out to Bruno on friday morning. Again we trained on friday night to get used to the apparatus and prepare for the two days ahead. Saturday was a massive success with the team just edging over belgium to win the gold, also i won the all round title by a huge 8 marks. Sunday’s competition was an early start with a really unusual programme. The top ten boys paired up with the top ten girls and competed in a knock out competiton. We made it to the second round but sadly didn’t make it into the final.
