Asda DairyLink farmer Geoff Spence is UK's No.1

I’ve just arrived back home from the British Dairy Event held at Stoneleigh, near Coventry. Dairy farmers from across the UK attend the event to get up to speed with what’s new in the industry from genetics, technical information, feeding regimes, machinery and loads more.

The highlight of the event is the Gold Cup, the most prestigious competition for UK dairy farmers, and I’m delighted to announce that one of our Asda DairyLink farmers, Geoff Spence, was the overall winner of the 2009 competition.

This is an amazing achievement, not least because this is the first time Geoff has entered and he was selected out of over 600 potential winners.

He was narrowed down to the final six and then won it! To be fair, it’s not a huge surprise. Geoff did win the Farmers Weekly ‘Dairy Farmer of the Year’ award in 2007 and he is quite simply a fantastic dairy farmer. We are really proud to have him supplying Asda.

Congratulations Geoff, you truly deserve it.
