Chilean wine - Mayu Sangiovese

Winemaker:Giorgio Flessati

March’s edition of Decanter magazine has a great review of one of our favourite Chilean wines from the sun-filled Elqui Valley in Northern Chile.

Crafted by winemaker Giorgio Flessati, Mayu Sangiovese has been described as having “dried cherry and roasted herb flavours that come together in a succulent, elegantly textured flavour profile”.

Vinã Mayu Vineyards

And it’s no surprise this wine, produced by Vinã Mayu, has such a great taste profile. The Elqui valley is blessed with a perfect climate, enjoying more than 300 days of sunshine a year – wouldn’t it be nice if we all could live there! Its location ensures a good harvest and allows Giorgio to concentrate on the ripeness of grapes without having to worry about the weather!

Not only has the taste of the wine been highlighted by Decanter, but the price also. They described this wine as “great value”. We pride ourselves on offering great wines at a great price and I think we’ve hit the nail on the head with this one!
