When our Chesser store’s much-loved Community Champion Linda died of cancer last year her son Gary stepped in to the role to continue her fantastic work.

This month he’s been encouraging customers to raise awareness and money for Breast Cancer Care as part of the charity’s nationwide Strawberry Tea campaign.

Linda won awards for her fantastic charity efforts during her time as Community Champion at the store in Edinburgh and was much-loved by colleagues and customers. She had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, had a breast removed and recovered well until the illness returned last September in her lungs.

The baby cucumbers come in a plastic tub and are part of a range which also features baby peppers and baby tomatoes for just £1.75 each.

Strawberry Tea

Two of our fab Community Champions rolled back the years in South Shields when they held a Forties tea dance in aid of Breast Cancer Care.

Tracey Tough from our South Shields store and Mavis Maughan from Boldon teamed up to organise the ‘Rolling Back The Years’ event which saw more than 50 people enjoy a fantastic afternoon at the Charles Young Centre in South Shields.

Little Noah loves our flower wind spinner so much his mum Hannah says she had to buy more for him to enjoy!

Hannah Amphlett bought the vibrant spinner from her local store in Melksham and said: "Noah loves the bright colours of the wheel – which is why we’ve bought two for our garden and two more for family.

“Asda is great for baby clothes and seasonal items which is where we found the spinning wheel, and it often has good deals on our favourite brands – and chocolate which is essential for a new mum like me!”

The wind spinner is £1.50 and is available in stores in the outdoor aisle, along with a range of fun wind socks.
