This policy applies to store purchases only.
If a customer is not happy with any purchase of ASDA branded items — grocery, fresh or frozen — they can return the product and we will offer a full refund or replacement product. A receipt is preferred but not essential.
Electrical products
When a customer purchases any electrical item their receipt will be placed in a free Exchange & Refund wallet. If a customer doesn’t receive a wallet, they can ask a colleague for one at any time, they will be ‘Happy to Help.’ Electrical products are automatically guaranteed for one year from purchase. The receipt of proof of purchase is required to obtain an exchange of refund.(*See ‘inherent faults’.)
We also offer a 28 day exchange or refund on any electrical item which we call our ‘Changed Your Mind’ promise. If you do change your mind, simply return the product store in its original condition with the receipt or other proof of purchase within 28 days, and we’ll give our customers a full refund or replacement. To qualify for an exchange or refund, products returned need to be complete with all accessories, components, instruction booklet and the original plug, the original packaging is preferred but not essential.
Entertainment Items – Music, Film and Games
Music, film and games software products are covered by our 28 day ‘Changed Your Mind’ promise but are limited to one exchange only (unless faulty of misdescribed).
These products are guaranteed if any fault occurs or if the product was misdescribed, for one year from the date of purchase. (*See ‘inherent faults’.) The customer will need to return the product to store along with the receipt or proof of purchase to obtain an exchange or refund.
George fashion range
The George range is covered by our ‘100 Day Quality Guarantee.’ If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your George clothing purchase, simply return it within 100 days for an exchange or refund (exclusions apply).
Exclusions are Accessories (not made from cloth), footwear and jewellery; these are covered by our 28 day ‘Changed Your Mind’ policy. George bedding can only be returned if faulty or misdescribed due to hygiene reasons.
Faulty or misdescribed products are returnable within a one year period from purchase. (*See ‘inherent faults’.)
A receipt or proof of purchase is required for all George clothing, accessories, footwear and jewellery before an exchange or refund will be given.
Optical
All optical products, except prescription glasses, are covered by the 28 day ‘Changed Your Mind’ promise.
Over the counter pharmacy
Products that are non-prescription but are sold in the presence of a pharmacist are covered by the 28 day ‘Changed Your Mind’ promise, but can only be exchanged or refunded at the Pharmacy counter.
*Inherent Faults: If you believe a product you have purchased has an inherent fault and is outside of the 1 year guarantee period you should contact the Customer Service Desk at your local store for further advice. The customer will be required to prove an inherent fault occurred with the product.
An inherent fault means a fault which existed at the time of sale which became apparent within the period of the guarantee.
